Speed, Security & Care Plans
Ongoing maintenance for a WordPress site you depend on — updates, backups, security and speed handled before any of it becomes an emergency.
What this actually is
Most broken WordPress sites were simply left alone too long. A care plan is cheaper than a rescue.
A WordPress site is not a finished object. Plugins update, PHP versions move on, and the gap between what your site runs and what is current widens every month you ignore it. That gap is how sites get defaced, how checkout suddenly stops working, and how a site that felt fine last year now takes forever to load.
A care plan is the boring version of that story. Scheduled updates applied and checked rather than clicked blindly. Offsite backups you could actually restore from. Logins hardened, firewall rules set, caching and images kept in order. Plus a plain report, so you can see what was done without needing a developer to interpret it.
How we work
Four steps, in this order.
Audit
Find what is slow, outdated or already compromised.
Harden
Updates, logins, backups and firewall settings put right.
Accelerate
Caching, images and database cleaned up for real-world load times.
Maintain
Scheduled updates and checks, with a report you can actually read.
What you get
Every engagement hands over these.
- An audit report listing what is slow, outdated or already compromised
- Offsite backups running on a schedule, with a tested restore
- A hardened install — updates, logins, firewall and file permissions
- A plain-language maintenance report each cycle, written for non-developers
Who it’s for
This is usually the right fit when…
- Your site is live and earning, and nobody is responsible for it between emergencies.
- The developer who built it has moved on and nothing has been updated since.
- Something already looks wrong — odd pages, warnings in search results, a login you cannot trust.
Questions
The things people ask before starting.
Our site works fine. Why pay for a care plan?
Because the work is invisible when it is going well. You are paying for the updates that did not break anything, the backup you never needed, and the attack that failed. The visible version of this is a rescue job after a defacement, which costs more and takes your site offline while it happens.
Can you take over a site you did not build?
Yes, and that is how these usually start. The first step is the audit, because we will not take responsibility for a site we have not looked inside. Sometimes the audit finds something that needs fixing before ongoing maintenance makes any sense — we will tell you that up front rather than after.
What happens if the site is hacked while you are maintaining it?
We clean it up and restore from backup as part of the plan. That is the reason the backups are tested rather than assumed. No one can promise a site will never be compromised, and anyone who does is selling you something. Recovery should be routine work, not a crisis with no clean copy to fall back on.
Will you speed up a site that is already slow?
That is the Accelerate part, and it is usually less glamorous than people expect. Most of the gain comes from oversized images, a bloated database and caching that was never switched on. If the slowness is really your hosting, we will say so — no amount of tuning fixes a server that is overloaded.
