Marketing & Company Websites
The public site that explains what you do, earns a stranger’s trust quickly, and makes it easy to get in touch.
What this actually is
The site that has to explain what you do and get someone to make contact.
A company website has one job: a stranger arrives, works out whether you can help them, and decides whether to make contact. Everything else — the animations, the stock photography, the long history section — either serves that or gets in its way. We start with the single thing your site has to say, then build the pages around it.
The writing matters more than the design. Most sites fail because they describe the company instead of the reader’s problem. We write the copy in plain language, build it into a fast, accessible site that behaves on a mid-range phone, and set up measurement so you can see where visitors stop reading.
How we work
Four steps, in this order.
Position
Decide the one thing the site must say before anything else.
Write
Plain-language copy, structured around what a visitor came to find out.
Build
Fast, accessible, and readable on a phone on a weak network.
Measure
Track what people actually do, and change the page when they do not.
What you get
Every engagement hands over these.
- A live, responsive website on your domain with SSL configured
- Page copy written for your audience, not filled with placeholder text
- A content management setup your team can edit without a developer
- Analytics and contact-form tracking, wired up and verified at launch
Who it’s for
This is usually the right fit when…
- Your current site was built years ago, nobody can edit it, and you avoid sending people there.
- You run everything through social media, and serious buyers keep asking for a website before they commit.
- You get traffic but almost no enquiries, and you cannot tell which page loses people.
Questions
The things people ask before starting.
Do we really need a website when customers already find us on social media?
Sometimes not. If every enquiry arrives by direct message and closes there, a site is a low priority. It earns its place when someone needs to check you are real before they commit — a corporate buyer, a partner, a grant committee. That audience will not scroll a feed to decide.
Can we write the copy ourselves?
You can, and some people do it well. Be honest about capacity though — unwritten copy is the most common reason a site sits unfinished. If you want to write it, we give you a structure and a deadline per page. If that stalls, we take it over rather than let the project drift.
Will this get us to the top of Google?
Not on its own, and anyone promising a position is guessing. We build the technical foundation properly — clean structure, fast pages, correct titles and descriptions, a sitemap search engines can read. Ranking beyond that comes from publishing things worth linking to, over time. That is a separate, ongoing effort.
WordPress or a custom build?
Depends on who maintains it. WordPress is right when your team needs to publish pages without calling a developer, and we harden it so updates do not break things. A custom build suits sites that do something unusual or must stay very lean. Either way, budget for upkeep — neglect, not the platform, is what kills most sites.
